A carton sealer (or case sealer) is a packaging machine designed to apply adhesive tape to the top and bottom of cardboard boxes. It automates the process of folding and sealing flaps, ensuring consistent and secure packaging for transit.

Side drive belt sealers move the boxes using drive belts located on the sides, which is ideal for tall, narrow, or lightweight boxes. Top-bottom drive belt sealers use belts on the top and bottom, which is best for heavy, wide, or unstable boxes to ensure smooth movement during sealing.

Some standard models require manual adjustments using hand cranks to match uniform box batches. However, fully automatic and random carton sealers can self-adjust instantly to accommodate different box dimensions in real-time.

An edge sealing machine seals the outer corners and edges of a carton (often in an H-shape seal). This provides extra reinforcement, dustproofing, moisture protection, and improved security for heavy items during logistics.

Most standard machines support standard BOPP adhesive tape, paper tape, or reinforced tape in standard widths such as 2 inches (48mm) or 3 inches (72mm). Dual tape heads can be configured depending on the packaging requirements.
